1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW

ANANKE Quick Grip is a mechanically locking, gravity-assisted mounting system designed to securely attach suitcase-style cargo cases to the inside of a pickup truck tailgate, while transferring the working load into the truck bed—not the tailgate skin.

The system uses precision French cleat geometry, thin aluminum spring plates, and a controlled gravity gap to create a self-locking, theft-resistant interface that is removable only when the tailgate is open.

2. HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

Spring-Loaded Cleat Engagement

• A 1/32” aluminum plate is intentionally used as a spring element.

• During installation, the cleat flexes slightly to enter the space between:

• The bumper block, and

• The truck-mounted cleat.

• Once past this point, the cleat returns to its neutral shape and locks into position.

Locking & Release Method

• After engagement, the cleats cannot disengage vertically.

• The system can only be released by a deliberate sideways sliding motion.

• When the tailgate is closed, this sideways motion is physically blocked.

Gravity Load Transfer (Critical Safety Feature)

• Once locked, the weight of the case naturally settles downward into the gravity gap.

• This causes the load to be:

• Carried by the truck bed,

• Not by the tailgate panel or hinges.

• When the tailgate is closed and locked, the case becomes mechanically trapped and immovable.

Result:

✔ Secure under load

✔ No rattling

✔ Theft-resistant without external locks

3. THEFT-RESISTANT OPERATION

When the tailgate is:

• Open → the system can be intentionally slid sideways and removed

• Closed & locked → the system cannot move, lift, or disengage

No exposed fasteners, latches, or locks are accessible when the tailgate is closed.
